San Juan Capistrano, 20 February 2006 – Metafore, a vendor and technology independent
full-service application solution provider for product lifecycle management (PLM),
today announced that the company has been selected by Thales Avionics, Inc. with
headquarters in Irvine, CA for the implementation and deployment of an enterprise-wide
PLM solution based on UGS’ Teamcenter software.
Thales Avionics, Inc., a leading manufacturer of in-flight entertainment systems
for commercial aircraft, has recently been experiencing a tremendous increase
in demand for their state-of-the-art products. To handle the additional workload
and manage the rapidly increasing complexity and amount of product and project
data, the company decided to utilize product lifecycle management technology.Thales
Avionics went through a rigorous evaluation process looking at several possible
PLM systems and implementation partners. “Of course we wanted to find the best
system for our needs, but more importantly we were looking for a partner that
really understood our business and would commit to implementing the entire system
in only nine months”, said Georges de Moura, Information Systems Manager at Thales

Metafore will implement and deploy Teamcenter enterprise-wide for document management,
CAD data management, configuration/BOM management, workflow/process automation,
change management, program/project management, quality management, and supplier
collaboration. Included in the project scope are integrations to Pro/Engineer,
AutoCAD, Cadence Allegro and OrCAD, and Thales Avionics’ ERP system Manage2000.
